How to Apply for USIU-Africa Mastercard Foundation Scholarships – 2024/2025
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa) is now accepting applications for the 2024 intake. The program is a fully financed scholarship program that is intended for eligible Africans who wish to enroll at USIU-Africa to pursue undergraduate degrees.
In its global Scholars Program, the Mastercard Foundation has partnered with United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa). This program will give academically gifted African kids who are constrained by their financial situation, gender, location, or handicap the chance to attend top-tier universities.

About Scholarships from the Mastercard Foundation at USIU-Africa in 2024
Young Africans who are first-time candidates for undergraduate degrees will receive full scholarships through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at USIU-Africa. After completing their studies, scholars will be expected to spearhead community change and contribute to significant transformation across the continent, having acquired credentials that are both globally recognized and locally relevant.
The scholarship is intended for African adolescents who are either young men or young women who meet the criteria listed below:
talent in the classroom dedication to giving back to their communities
Leadership potential Registered Refugees, youth who have been displaced, and people with disabilities will receive priority.
Eligibility Requirements
Those interested in the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at USIU-Africa must fulfill the prerequisites listed below:
- A 29-year-old or younger age requirement applies to applicants.
- Meet the Kenya Commission for University Education’s minimum entry grade requirement of C+ or higher, or its equivalent. A C+ or B- in the cluster topics of English, Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry is required of applicants who are interested in taking courses at the school of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Candidates from other countries must meet the requirements.
- For the USIU-Africa Scholars Program, applicants must be interested in one of the following 13 undergraduate degree programs that have been approved:
- Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Technology, Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Technology, Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Analytics are all offered by the School of Science and Technology (SST).
- School of Communication, Cinematic and Creative Arts (SCCCA): Bachelor of Arts in Animation; Chandaria School of Business (CSB): Bachelor of Science in Finance; School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SH): Bachelor of Humanities and Social Sciences; School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (SPHS): Bachelor of Pharmacy; Bachelor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics; School of Communication, Cinematic and Creative Arts (SCCCA): Bachelor of
- Arts in Film Production and Directing; School of Communication,
- Has a track record of giving back to the community and serving in leadership roles.
- Show evidence of socioeconomic deprivation.

- How to Apply: Interested applicants can pick up the application form for free from the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Office in the School of Graduate Studies, Research and Extension, 2nd floor, or download it from the USIU-Africa website.
- Please read the instructions and necessary details before completing the application form.
- Send the entire application—along with any additional supporting documents—by email, making sure to scan everything in PDF format, including the scholarship application form.
- Send applications to mcfsp-applications@usiu.ac.ke with your name and country clearly stated in the email subject line. Alternatively, you can mail your application to the following address:

Sending only one complete application is encouraged for applicants. Applications that are duplicates or incomplete will be rejected. Please be aware that canvassing will automatically disqualify you.
