How to Use the Screen Sharing Feature on WhatsApp

The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, revealed the newest feature of WhatsApp on August 8, 2023: screen sharing during video calls.

According to him, users can start screen sharing by clicking the “Share” icon and selecting whether to share the full screen or only a certain application.

The most recent addition to WhatsApp, which permits screen sharing during video calls, was unveiled by Zuckerberg.

In addition, WhatsApp users may enjoy video calls in landscape mode, which offers a more expansive and engaging mobile viewing and sharing experience.

In November 2016, WhatsApp launched video calling for all of its users.

Concurrently, WhatsApp has declared that it is gradually introducing the ability to edit messages for iOS media that has captions.

“We’re bringing to WhatsApp the capability to share your screen while on a video call,” Mark announced.

“Screen sharing lets you share a live view of your screen during the call, whether you’re sharing documents for work, looking through family photos, organising a trip or shopping with friends, or just lending a helping hand with tech support,” the firm said in a statement.

The company said in the official changelog that it had “Added message editing support for media with captions.”

Along with new action sheets, the company is also introducing a redesigned user interface (UI) including translucent bars. The updated sticker tray with better navigation and a bigger selection of stickers, including additional Avatars, is still being released, according to the changelog.

The business stated that all of these features will be released in the upcoming weeks. The messaging app WhatsApp extensively launched support for video calls in landscape mode and the ability to block unknown callers for iOS last month.
