Reasons why you Shouldn’t use your Phone while Charging

Posted by: || Categories: Guides

Many of us are so dependent on our phones—I’m trying not to call it addicted—that when they are taken away from us, even for a short while, it seems like a piece of ourselves is missing. However, nothing is more important than safety. By now, you may have heard the myth that using a phone while plugged in might explode right in front of your ears and even kill the user. Well, it’s a myth that has extensively infiltrated society, even though it cannot be ruled out altogether. Situations like this are hard to envision medical emergency reporting, but there are other reasons why you shouldn’t use your phone for anything when it’s plugged in. Here are a few of them to look at:

1. Electrical Accident Risk

The danger of electrical accidents is one of the biggest worries when using your phone while it is charging. Even though contemporary cellphones are built with safety features, malfunctions or defective chargers are still a possibility. When you answer a call while your phone is charging, there’s a higher chance of an electrical accident occurring. These accidents can cause electric shocks or, in the worst situations, fire hazards.

2. Discharge of batteries

An essential component of each smartphone is its battery, which has a direct effect on the lifespan and performance of the device. Your phone creates more heat when you use it while it’s charging. The battery may experience stress from the increased heat, which could eventually result in a shorter battery life. Essentially, using your phone continuously while it is charging hastens the deterioration of your battery.

3. A Slower Rate of Charging

Many consumers anticipate quick smartphone charging. However, the charging process slows down considerably when you use your cellphone actively while it’s plugged in. This occurs as a result of your phone’s resources being split between handling incoming calls, using apps, and charging the battery all at once. Your phone takes longer to fully charge as a result, which might be annoying if you’re pressed for time.

4. Problems with Overheating

These days, smartphones are built to regulate their temperature well. However, using your phone a lot and charging at the same time can cause overheating. Your device may lag, freeze, or even abruptly shut down to avoid harm as a result of overheating. Severe circumstances may result in irreversible hardware damage.

5. Shorter Cycles of Charging

There is a maximum number of charging cycles for each smartphone battery. The process of charging your phone from 0% to 100% is referred to as a charging cycle. You use more charging cycles when you use your phone more frequently while it’s charging. As a result, the longevity of your battery is reduced overall, and you’ll find that you need to replace it sooner than you thought.

Even while it can be tempting to answer calls while your cellphone is charging, you should be aware of the possible risks involved with this behaviour. It’s best to avoid using your phone while it’s plugged in to protect your safety, extend the life of its battery, and maintain ideal charging speeds. If you have to answer a call, think about unplugging it or giving it enough time to charge completely before answering. You may benefit from your smartphone’s convenience while protecting it and your own health by following these safety measures.
