Honjo International Scholarship Foundation for International Students – 2024
For the academic year 2024, the Honjo International Scholarship Foundation is offering scholarships for graduate students from nations other than Japan.

Eligibility
The student must meet ALL of the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for the award.
1. The pupil does not hold Japanese nationality.
2. The student must be enrolled at a graduate institution in Japan as of April 2024 or be actively applying for the academic course beginning in April 2024. If you plan to enroll in April 2024, both those who are presently enrolled and those who are not (including those who are currently employed with jobs at the time of registering for the program) are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Graduate students planning to enroll in graduate programs in the fall of 2024 should submit an application for the 2024 program, which accepts applications from April 1 through April 30, 2024 (scheduled).
3. In theory, graduate students in professional programs are not eligible for this scholarship program; nonetheless, those who can submit a research proposal may do so.
4. The applicant for the PhD program must begin the PhD program before the age of 35 in order to be considered. Students who are interested in the master’s program must begin their master’s coursework before turning 30.
5. The applicant must demonstrate to the committee that, upon completing graduate school, he or she will be able to find employment in their country of residence. He or she is not required to have a job lined up for them or to move back home right away after graduating from college, but it is expected that they will have a strong desire to work in their native country in the future.
6. The applicant must be able to participate in the alumni network as an alumni member, attend foundation-organized activities, and have a thorough grasp of international friendship and goodwill.
7. The learner must be able to hold a basic Japanese conversation. Japanese will be used during the interviews. without exception
Number of Awards: 5 students
Duration and Cost of the Program: The length of the scholarship is determined by the shortest time necessary to earn the intended degree.
(1) $200,000. (2) $180,000.00 per month for three years, (3) $150,000.00 per month for four or five years.
Scholarship will cover travel costs for attending an international conference, etc.
