A succinct description
The Chengdu Municipal People’s Government established the “Government Scholarship for International Students from International Sister Cities of Chengdu City” (hereinafter referred to as the “Scholarship”) in March 2014 to foster communication and cooperation between Chengdu City and its international Sister Cities as well as to deepen friendship and understanding.
The scholarship is made available by the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government to assist international students from Sister Cities across the world who are enrolled in degree- or diploma-granting programs in Chengdu for longer than three months.

Benefit of Scholarship Award

Eligibility Requirements
For the Chengdu Sister City Scholarship at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, 2023–24, all applicants must fulfill the requirements listed below:
- Candidates must have a foreign nationality, be friendly to China, and be in good physical condition. They must also be inhabitants of one of Chengdu City’s Sister Cities (born in, studying, working, or residing in; and possess confirmation letters issued by relevant government offices of Sister Cities).
- International students who have previously received scholarships are not eligible to apply for the Scholarship; applicants’ academic standing and extracurricular achievements will be taken into consideration. Candidates should adhere to Chinese government rules and regulations, perform well, and meet UESTC’s admission standards.
Application Method
The sole remaining method for applying legitimately is as follows:
- Qualified candidates should submit the required documentation to our online application system before enrolling at UESTC. The UESTC Scholarship Committee will then interview each qualified applicant in the first round.
- Qualifying candidates must deliver the required documentation to the School of International Education prior to the arrival of UESTC. The documents of qualifying applicants will next be reviewed and approved by Chengdu Municipal People’s Government.
