Posted by: || Categories: Beats

Overview
If you are one of the following, you may be eligible for an EU Settlement Scheme family permit to enter the UK:

If you are traveling from Ukraine to the UK
You might be qualified to apply for a visa under the Ukraine Family Scheme if you have relatives who reside in the UK.

You can work and study in the UK with a family permit issued under the EU Settlement Scheme or the Ukraine Family Scheme.

You can pick which plan to apply for, but doing so may postpone the decision if you also apply for a family visa under the EU Settlement plan and the Ukraine Family Scheme.

If you apply for the Ukraine Family Scheme and are approved, you can still apply for the EU Settlement Scheme after arriving in the UK.

What family permits under the EU Settlement Scheme are for
It is simpler to go to the UK with a family member or to join them there if you have a family visa under the EU Settlement Scheme.

You are permitted to visit the UK for up to six months. Before the permit expires, you are permitted to come and go as often as you like, work, and study.

If you don’t have one, you might not acquire a boarding pass or your entry to the UK might be denied.

If you qualify for the EU Settlement Scheme, you can seek to stay longer in the United Kingdom.

Application for the EU Settlement Scheme You have two options.

Before arriving in the UK, apply for a family permit under the EU Settlement Scheme, and once here, submit an application for the scheme.

If you shared housing with a family member in the UK before December 31, 2020, but they passed away, left the country, or your relationship ended, you might still be eligible. This is referred to as “retaining the right of residence.”

If a family member of a Northern Ireland resident meets the requirements
If you have a family member who qualifies for Northern Ireland residency, you may apply.

Your family member must be a Northern Ireland-born Irish, British, or dual British and Irish citizen in order to qualify.

A parent who had British, Irish, or dual citizenship at the time of their birth was also required, as was the absence of any time limits on their presence in Northern Ireland.

If you have a family member who qualifies for Northern Ireland citizenship, learn more about applying.

Fees The application for the permission is free.

Following Application
Check the duration of your permit and the deadline for submitting an extension application if your application is approved.

If you are living abroad with a citizen of the United Kingdom
If you are a family member of a British person who you resided with in the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein, you are no longer eligible to apply for an EU Settlement Scheme family permit.
