TOPIC: Staying Away From Offences And Offenders (Seeds Of Destiny 29 January 2023)
SCRIPTURE: And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Mark 9:43.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When we say you should forgive people, we do not mean you should become their friend.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2023 MESSAGE:
One wisdom key to managing offences and offenders is to stay away from them.
You see, when we say you should forgive people, we do not mean you should become their friend. This is because friendship is not by force; it is by choice.
To forgive means to cleanse your heart from the offences. But after you have cleansed your heart from offences, face your life, and if possible, stay far from the offender to avoid further offences. Stay far away from both the offender and his offences.
Many people don’t understand how to manage this. So, they think that when we say forgive, we mean becoming friends with the offenders. No!
Mark 9:43 says,
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
For example, you may have a friend or someone who always leaves you with pain in your heart. The wisdom is to stay far from them.
The question is, do you hate the person? No! Is the person your friend? No! Is he your enemy? No! You only know him but stay away from him and deliver yourself from situations that can give rise to bitterness and unforgiveness.
Even if it is money they are giving you and they are insulting you, reject that money. You must avoid such money even if you are dying of hunger. Don’t ever give the devil the opportunity to cast you down. Stay away from anything that tampers with your joy.
Remember this: When we said you should forgive people, we do not mean you should become their friend.

Make up your mind to stay away from offences and offenders.
Forgive in advance before the offences come.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to release every offence and offender from my heart. Help me to stay away from offences and offenders, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
