17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

The MESSAGE:
The message of the cross today is as important as the message of life. Man was created in the image of God to fulfil His will and to show forth His glory. Through rebellion, man was alienated from his Creator. Many have tried to reunite with God through their own efforts like being religious, living a good life, attending church, not harming anyone, etc. None of these efforts was accepted by God as a way of reconciliation because the scripture says, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags;…” (Isaiah 64:6). Our self righteousness did not meet up with God’s required standard.
This is what Christ provided for us on the cross. We became acceptable to God through the cross. We gained freedom from sin, satan, sickness, curses, evil covenants and evil foundations. Racial barriers were broken through the cross and a new relationship with God was established.
The cross of Christ is the centre point for mankind’s existence on earth after the fall of the first man -Adam. We became members of God’s family through the cross of Christ. We experienced God’s incomparable love through the cross. The cross of Christ is the centre of human history. It is the bridge that created access to man, from the lost state to the place of happiness and a better life both here on earth and in the life to come.
You too can enjoy the benefits that the cross brought to mankind by surrendering your life to Jesus Christ today. And if you have already accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you can continue to enjoy more of these benefits by remaining in Him.
Through Christ’s death on the cross, those who turn to Him are delivered from both the penalty and power of sin. Hence, we gained righteousness in place of sin, perfect health in place of sickness, long life in place of untimely death, blessings in place of poverty, glory in place of shame, divine acceptance instead of condemnation and eternal life instead of eternity in hell. Truly, salvation comes through a cross and a crucified Christ!
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
Lord, print the mark of Your cross in my heart, in the name of Jesus.
Let the power of the cross of Jesus Christ deliver me from every evil, in the name of Jesus.
Lord, let me enjoy the benefits of Your cross, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
I claim the victory of the cross and the blessings of Calvary, in the name of Jesus.
Blood of Jesus, avail and prevail for me, in the name of Jesus.
Let the power of the cross break the stronghold of sin in my life, in the name of Jesus.
Let the power of the cross destroy sickness, death and other consequences of sin in my life, in the name of Jesus.
