[TREM Devotional 12 July 2020] Topic: You Cannot Be Defeated
“In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.” Isaiah 54:14 (KJV)
The entire environment is presently consumed by fear of both the known and the unknown. Fear pervades all aspects of our livelihood these days and there are apparent helplessness and despair. Strange events, violence, kidnapping, and death are on the increase daily. Now we have the issues of Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen and the issues refuse to end.
As it were, our only hope is God. Only God can preserve you. The fact that you wake up every morning and you are alive is not easy. It is not the way it happened to others. Some passed from sleep to death. It was not their making or because they committed any sin. The enemy struck. That is why you must appreciate this God for His faithfulness to us. He said we shall be established in righteousness. The believer is righteous. He who knew no sin became sin that I might be made the righteousness of God.
No bomb blast or bullet will come near your dwelling place. The book of Colossians 3:3 says, “For ye are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God” (KJV). Your life is hidden with Christ in God. That means you are inside Christ and before anyone can get you, he must get God, then he will now get Christ before the person can reach you!
You are hidden inside the Rock. That should be your mindset. You are inside the Rock and God sees you in the Rock. Even the devil sees you in the Rock. Except you do not see yourself that way. The bible says “… through knowledge shall the just be delivered” (Proverbs 11:9 KJV).
When you know that you have victory over every adversity, life will be an adventure. No matter what you are going through, you know that it is just a matter of time. God says if anyone attacks you, it will not be His doing and whoever attacks you will be defeated by you. You cannot be defeated. You are God’s ambassador! You are anointed by God to do the works of God. You are God’s powerhouse! You can never fail. You are a terror to the devil. There is a power at work in you that makes the rulers of darkness to tremble. This is your heritage in Christ.
