Neymar Video ‘Proves’ PSG Star Is Getting ‘Assaulted’ On Pitch As He Is Ruled Out Of Barcelona Clash
Neymar has been staunchly defended against labels that he is a ‘diver’ or a ‘crybaby’ as a fan posted a compilation to ‘prove’ that is far from the truth.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar picked up a thigh injury in his side’s 1-0 victory over Caen in the French Cup on Wednesday.
And Neymar has now been ruled out of PSG’s last-16 Champions League clash against former side Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Tuesday.
Fans have already mocked the former Barcelona star for his injury by pointing out that it has happened as his sister’s birthday is coming up.
Neymar, on the other hand, has since taken to social media to vent his frustration by saying the “pain is immense” and he is “very sad.”
The Brazilian winger also added: “It makes me sad to hear a player, a coach, a commentator or whoever say ‘you really have to hit him’, ‘he’s a diver’, ‘he’s a cry baby’, ‘he’s a child’, ‘he’s spoiled’, etc.
“It really makes me sad and I don’t how much more of it I can stand. I just want to be happy playing football and nothing more.”
Now, one fan has created a compilation to dismiss the idea that Neymar is a ‘diver,’ a ‘cheater’ or a ‘crybaby.’
The footage spotlights various cases when Neymar has been ‘roughed up’ during challenges, both on the international stage and club level.
“When Ronaldinho did it, it was beautiful and you can’t hate the guy. When Neymar does it, he’s arrogant and he dives,” one fan posted.
A second said: “I keep telling people this as well. Neymar gets fouled A LOT. But he’s progressed and become more intelligent and can read what defenders can do now.”
While someone else argued: “Most people hate him because he is doing flicks and stuff at the halfway line when his team is either losing or trying to mock the player defending him. Hence why players dangerously tackle him.”
And a fourth added: “He’s lightweight and skilful. Maybe if he builds up more of muscle and strengthens himself, he should be unstoppable with those skills at [his] disposal.”
Neymar’s injury recovery time is expected to be around four weeks, meaning that PSG could see him return for the second-leg match on 10th March.
