Udom Inspects Work At International Worship Centre, Uyo (Photos)
Today I visited the ongoing International Worship Centre project in Uyo. The quality of the work done is commendable and it is the best of its kind in the world.In addition to other key infrastructure and industries we are building, we as a people are raising an altar for our God, even for generations yet unborn.
I’m not a sadist, anti-government or anti-Christian but I think this is one of the misplaced priority we keep having in this country. No government should spend public funds building worship centres whether church or mosque etc.
And to think this is a billion naira project, how does this help the economy of the state? You would say it has provided contract (temporary) jobs for those working there but after the completion, what next? Think of if this money was to be rechannelled in building production industry or empowerment to the people of the state who poverty can clearly be seen staring in their faces. Misplaced priority!!!
