[Open Heaven For Teens 28 September 2024] Topic: The Virtue: Patience

TOPIC — The Virtue: Patience (Open Heaven for Teens 28 September 2024)

MEMORISE: He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. – Philippians 3:13

READ: James 1:2-4

  1. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
  2. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
  3. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

MESSAGE:

Teenage life is usually associated with youthful exuberance; young people do many things spontaneously without thinking carefully about their consequences. Having being a youth once, trying my hands at many things, I can boldly tell you that it is better to be patient than hasty.

Patience is an uncommon characteristic that brings great benefits. I have come across young people who made hasty decisions to travel out of their home country in search of a better life. They didn’t wait to get direction from God, and thus, they wasted their parents’ resources. They became stranded until God used some pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to rescue them and return them safely to their home countries.

My dear child, despite the fact that you may be experiencing some challenges in different areas of your life now, I want to admonish you to think carefully about all factors before making decisions. Many people say that the grass is green on the other side, but I say, “The pasture is green where God blesses.”

PRAYER POINT
Father, please give me the grace to be patient and make wise decisions always.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR
Isaiah 54:1-57:14, Ephesians 6:1-24

HYMN 58: MY HOPE IS BUILT ON NOTHING ELSE

  1. My hope is built on nothing less
    Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
    I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
    But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

  1. When darkness seems to veils His face,
    I rest on His unchanging grace;
    In every high and stormy gale,
    My anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]
  2. His oath, His covenant, and blood,
    Support me in the whelming flood;
    When all around my soul gives way,
    He then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]
  3. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
    Oh, may I then in Him be found;
    Dressed in His righteousness alone,
    Faultless to stand before the throne. [Refrain]
