Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Language Requirements:
Chinese-taught programs: HSK4 (≥220 for science/engineering, ≥260 for arts/social sciences/medicine).
Bachelor of Chinese language & literature: HSK5 (≥200).
English-taught programs: IELTS ≥6.0 or TOEFL ≥85.
Exemptions apply if:
a) Applicant’s first/official language is Chinese or English.
b) Applicant completed a degree taught in Chinese or English.
Eligible Countries: Open to all international students.
General Requirements:
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, in good health, with no criminal record.
Bachelor’s applicants: High school diploma, aged 18–25.
Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s degree, aged 18–35.
Doctoral applicants: Master’s degree, aged 18–40.
Strong academic background and research capability required for postgraduates.
Applicants under 18 must have a legal guardian residing in China.
Follow these steps to apply for the CSU Scholarship 2026:
Online Application:
Create an account on the CSU admissions portal and begin your application.
Required Documents:
Passport copy (valid for at least 1 year)
Foreigner Physical Examination Record (issued after Oct 1, 2024)
Graduation certificate or pre-graduation proof
Academic transcripts
Non-criminal record certificate (issued after Oct 1, 2024)
Language proficiency certificate (HSK/IELTS/TOEFL)
Two recommendation letters (graduate applicants only, signed after Oct 1, 2024)
Study plan (minimum 800 words, for graduate applicants)
Published papers or additional supporting materials (optional)
Initial Review:
The School of International Education checks eligibility (identity, health, language, etc.).
Application Fee:
After passing the initial review, pay a non-refundable fee of RMB 500 (via WeChat, Alipay, or UnionPay).
Academic Review:
Relevant CSU faculties assess applicants’ academic and research potential.
Admission Decision:
Final results are communicated by email. Successful applicants will receive:

Scholarship confirmation
Visa application form (JW202/JW201)
Annual Review:
Scholarship recipients are evaluated yearly based on academic performance and conduct. Failure to meet standards may lead to suspension.
All documents must be in English or Chinese (translated and notarized if otherwise).
Applicants of foreign nationality with Chinese heritage must provide proof of renunciation of Chinese citizenship.
Application fees are non-refundable, regardless of admission status.
Admission results communicated by official email are final (system notifications are not binding).
Winter break (Jan 26–Feb 27, 2025) may delay application processing.
