The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association (JTEA) Scholarship 2026 is now accepting applications. This prestigious program supports outstanding Taiwanese students pursuing higher education in Japan, offering financial assistance and fostering academic and cultural exchange between Japan and Taiwan.
The scholarship is available for students at final-year undergraduate (preparing for graduate school), master’s, doctoral, and professional degree levels at accredited Japanese universities.
The JTEA Scholarship aims to:

Successful applicants will receive:
Master’s / Professional Degree Students: ¥144,000 per month (approx.)
Doctoral Students: ¥145,000 per month (approx.)
Tuition support and additional academic expenses may also be covered depending on program funds.
The duration of funding matches the standard length of the enrolled program.
Applicants must:
Be Taiwanese nationals enrolled in a recognized Japanese university or graduate school (including final-year undergraduates).
Be officially registered in a Japanese university program as of April 1, 2026.
Be under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2026.
