About the Helmut Veith Stipend

The Helmut Veith Stipend is a fully funded scholarship designed to encourage outstanding female students from around the globe to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science at TU Wien. The award covers EUR 7,000 annually for up to two years, along with a full tuition fee waiver.

The program was established with the support of TU Wien, the Wolfgang Pauli Institute, and the family and friends of Helmut Veith, who passed away in March 2016. His pioneering contributions to fields such as formal methods, computer security, and logic in computer science continue to inspire future generations of researchers.

Interested candidates must prepare the following documents and submit them as a single PDF (titled document.pdf) via email to ta.sc-cigol@retsam with the subject line: Application:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  2. Cover Letter detailing the type of funding sought and any relevant information

  3. Motivation Letter explaining:

    • Why you want to join the Logic and Computation Master’s program

    • Why financial support is necessary

    • Which faculty research groups you wish to collaborate with for your thesis, and why

  4. Diplomas and Certificates (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).

    • If final certificate is pending, submit a provisional document signed and stamped by your university indicating expected graduation

  5. University Transcripts

  6. Contact Information of Two Referees (for recommendation letters)

  7. Copy of Passport

  8. Proof of English Proficiency (TOEFL or equivalent)

  9. Certified Translations for documents not in English or German

Important Note

Recipients must reside in Austria for the duration of their studies and demonstrate satisfactory academic progress to maintain funding.
