The Danish Advanced Research Academy (DARA) is seeking international academic experts to join its review panel for the 2025 edition of the DARA PhD Fellowship Programme. This is a remote, paid opportunity to contribute to the selection of some of the most promising doctoral researchers tackling major global challenges through interdisciplinary innovation.
DARA supports exceptional PhD candidates enrolled at Danish institutions who are conducting research aligned with critical societal, environmental, and technological challenges. The programme fosters:

To uphold the integrity and quality of the selection process, DARA invites qualified scholars based outside Denmark to serve as peer reviewers.
DARA is looking for experienced academics who:
Hold the title of Associate Professor or higher, or have equivalent research seniority
Are not affiliated with any Danish institution (ensuring impartiality)
Have expertise in one or more of the following fields:
Bioscience & Biomedicine
Biotechnology
Natural & Technical Sciences
Data & Computer Science
€70 Honorarium per completed application
Remote Participation – work from anywhere

Early Access – preview innovative doctoral research proposals

Each application package includes:
Project summary and a detailed 1,500-word research proposal
Applicant motivation letter
CV and academic transcripts
Letter of support from the proposed PhD supervisor
Optional materials (e.g., mentor CV, lab description)
Evaluate using DARA’s structured criteria
Score applications (1 to 5 scale)
Provide constructive written feedback
Maintain ethical standards and declare conflicts of interest
Optionally participate in online consensus discussions
August 15, 2025 – Reviewer application deadline
September 12, 2025 – Review assignments distributed
October 15, 2025 – Review submission deadline
October 31, 2025 – Final consensus discussions and feedback
