The University of Szeged is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the National Higher Education Scholarship 2025–2026. This prestigious, government-funded scholarship supports high-achieving undergraduate and master’s students across all faculties with a monthly stipend for an entire academic year.
The National Higher Education Scholarship is a competitive scholarship program established under Act CCIV of 2011 and Government Decree 51/2007. It rewards students who exhibit exceptional academic performance, professional involvement, and active engagement in scientific or artistic pursuits.
Monthly Award: HUF 40,000
Duration: 10 months (Full academic year: 2025–2026)
Eligibility: Students must continue their studies in Spring 2026 if graduating after the Fall 2025 semester.

Degree Level: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Undivided Programs
Eligible Fields: All academic disciplines
Nationality: Open to students of all nationalities
Program Duration: Full academic year (10 months)
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Be enrolled full-time in a state-funded or fee-paying undergraduate, master’s, or undivided degree program at the University of Szeged.
Have completed at least two semesters of study.
Have earned a minimum of 55 credits.
Maintain a minimum GPA of 90% within their faculty.
Actively participate in research, arts, or sports activities.
Must not have received any disciplinary actions in the academic year.
Plan to continue their studies in the 2025–2026 academic year.
Students who apply for the National Scholarship may also apply for the Premium Educational Scholarship if their initial application is unsuccessful.
Scholarship applications are assessed by faculty-level evaluation committees based on:
Academic Excellence (90% GPA or above)
Professional Activities (research projects, publications, academic presentations)
Public and Extracurricular Involvement (sports, volunteer work, cultural or artistic activities – up to 10% of total score)
All final grades, including retake exam results, must be recorded in the Student Information System (Neptun) before submission.

⚠️ Incomplete or inaccurate applications will be automatically rejected.
If your application is declined:
First Appeal: Submit a request to the Faculty Dean within 3 days of receiving the decision.
Second Appeal (if applicable): In case of rejection by the National Committee, appeal within 15 days to the Rector, via the Faculty Dean.
