MAP-ID stands for Multilevel Approaches to Inflammatory Diseases. This initiative focuses on chronic inflammatory conditions such as:

  • Arthritis

  • Crohn’s Disease

  • Ulcerative Colitis

  • Other Autoimmune Disorders

By integrating molecular biology, biotechnology, immunology, and pharmacology, the program aims to revolutionize how chronic inflammation is understood and treated.


🎓 PhD Research Opportunities

The program will recruit 13 outstanding PhD candidates to:

  • Conduct advanced research at Jagiellonian University

  • Participate in secondments at 9 leading European universities and 3 U.S. institutions

  • Collaborate with 8 biotechnology companies across Europe for practical, industry-relevant training

  • Receive comprehensive academic supervision and mentorship in an interdisciplinary research environment


🌍 Global Exposure & Collaboration

PhD fellows will engage in:

  • 6–9 months of secondments abroad at partner institutions and biotech companies

  • Fully Funded Duration: 48 months

    • Call 1: October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2029

    • Call 2: March 1, 2026 – January 31, 2030 (only if needed)

  • Salary:

    • Minimum 9370 PLN/month gross (~€2,000)

    • Minimum 6700 PLN/month net

  • Additional Benefits:

    • Full health insurance, social security, and pension rights

    • Paid holidays

    • Employment contract for the duration of the program

    • Funded secondments to academic and industrial partners across Europe and the U.S.
