The COFUND MAP-ID Program 2025, hosted by Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, offers a transformative opportunity for aspiring researchers eager to address the growing global burden of chronic inflammatory diseases. This 48-month, fully funded PhD program combines international collaboration, interdisciplinary research, and academic–industry integration, training the next generation of scientific leaders at the forefront of medical innovation.
Supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND program, MAP-ID empowers researchers to pursue high-impact projects in a dynamic, cross-continental network of top universities and biotech companies.
MAP-ID stands for Multilevel Approaches to Inflammatory Diseases. This initiative focuses on chronic inflammatory conditions such as:
Arthritis
Crohn’s Disease
Ulcerative Colitis
Other Autoimmune Disorders
By integrating molecular biology, biotechnology, immunology, and pharmacology, the program aims to revolutionize how chronic inflammation is understood and treated.
The program will recruit 13 outstanding PhD candidates to:
Conduct advanced research at Jagiellonian University
Participate in secondments at 9 leading European universities and 3 U.S. institutions
Collaborate with 8 biotechnology companies across Europe for practical, industry-relevant training
Receive comprehensive academic supervision and mentorship in an interdisciplinary research environment
PhD fellows will engage in:
6–9 months of secondments abroad at partner institutions and biotech companies
Collaborative projects with international research teams
Opportunities to build lasting academic and industrial networks across Europe and the U.S.

Salary:
Minimum 9370 PLN/month gross (~€2,000)
Minimum 6700 PLN/month net
Additional Benefits:
