Applications are now open for the prestigious Simmons University Kotzen Scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year. This competitive award is Simmons University’s most distinguished merit-based scholarship, designed to recognize exceptional international students pursuing undergraduate studies.
The Kotzen Scholarship provides full tuition, mandatory fees, room and board, plus an annual $3,000 stipend for study abroad, summer internships, short-term courses, or research projects. It is awarded for up to four years of full-time undergraduate study and replaces any previously granted merit scholarship.

Recipients of the Simmons University Kotzen Scholarship will receive:
Full coverage of tuition, mandatory fees, and room & board
An additional $3,000 per year for study abroad, internships, short-term courses, or research opportunities
To be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Language Requirement: English proficiency (TOEFL, SAT, or ACT for non-native speakers)
Academic Performance:
GPA of 3.3 or higher (unweighted)
Strong record of honors, AP, or IB courses where available
College preparatory curriculum, including an advanced-level math course before or during senior year
Test Scores:
ACT: 28+
New SAT: 1300+
Old SAT (CR+M): 1250+ (minimum of 600 in each section strongly recommended)
Other Requirements:
Applying as a freshman for the fall semester
International applicants must provide standardized test scores
The Kotzen Scholarship covers all Simmons University undergraduate majors, including but not limited to:

Arts & Humanities: African Studies, Art, English, History, Philosophy, Music, Political Science, Sociology, Spanish, Women’s & Gender Studies

Technology: Computer Science, Web Design & Development, Information Technology, Health Informatics

Formal Essay (300–500 words): Describe your leadership style, give examples of leadership experiences, and explain the type of leader you aspire to become at Simmons.
Interview Stage
Finalists will be invited for an on-campus interview in February.
International applicants may complete a virtual interview via Skype if travel is not possible.
