The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) has officially opened applications for its Fully Funded Master’s and PhD Scholarships for Academic Year 2026–2027.
This prestigious scholarship program supports outstanding graduate students from Southeast Asia in advancing their studies in agriculture, environmental sciences, rural development, and other related disciplines.
SEARCA, headquartered in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines, is committed to building regional capacity in agricultural research and education. Through partnerships with leading universities across Southeast Asia, the program offers scholars world-class academic training, international exposure, and opportunities for regional collaboration.
Applications for 2026 opened after a virtual information session hosted by SEARCA’s Education and Collective Learning Department (ECLD) on 21 July 2025.
The SEARCA Master’s and PhD scholarships are fully funded, ensuring recipients can focus completely on their studies and research. The package typically includes:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Nationality – Open to citizens of SEAMEO member countries:
Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
Educational Background –
Master’s applicants: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, environment, rural development, or related fields.
PhD applicants: Must hold a Master’s degree in relevant fields.
University Admission – Applicants must meet the entry requirements of their chosen SEARCA partner university.
Research Proposal – Submit a research topic aligned with SEARCA’s priority thrusts (agriculture, environment, rural development, and food security).
Academic & Leadership Merit – Demonstrate strong academic performance, research potential, and leadership qualities.

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
