This prestigious scholarship not only provides financial support but also honors the legacy of the late Helmut Veith, a visionary computer scientist and mentor who dedicated his career to advancing research in logic, verification, and security while strongly supporting women in technology.
The Helmut Veith Stipend is a fully funded scholarship designed to encourage outstanding female students from around the globe to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science at TU Wien. The award covers EUR 7,000 annually for up to two years, along with a full tuition fee waiver.
The program was established with the support of TU Wien, the Wolfgang Pauli Institute, and the family and friends of Helmut Veith, who passed away in March 2016. His pioneering contributions to fields such as formal methods, computer security, and logic in computer science continue to inspire future generations of researchers.

To qualify for the Helmut Veith Stipend, applicants must:
Be female and an international student
Demonstrate proficiency in English
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics (or equivalent, Bologna first cycle)
Have unconditional admission to one of TU Wien’s English-taught Master’s programs in Computer Science
Show strong academic background and a keen interest in at least one of Helmut Veith’s research areas
