The Fujii Scholarship is designed to assist exceptional, financially needy international students from Asia who are pursuing degree programs in Japan. The scholarship supports academic success and promotes international friendship between Japan and Asian nations. It is especially targeted at self-supported students who demonstrate strong academic performance, character, and a commitment to their education.
Students enrolled in the following degree programs at Tokushima University may apply:
Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) Programs
Master’s Programs
Doctoral (PhD) Programs
Note: Non-degree research students are not eligible.
📚 All academic disciplines offered at Tokushima University are eligible under this scholarship.
Monthly Stipend: ¥50,000 JPY
Duration:
Up to 3 years for undergraduate and doctoral students
Up to 2 years for master’s students
Annual renewal subject to academic performance and conduct
No repayment required if conditions are met
Limited Awards: Up to 20 new scholars selected annually across participating institutions
One student from Tokushima University will be nominated for the 2026 cycle
Applicants must be citizens of one of the following Asian countries or regions:
India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, South Korea, China, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Timor-Leste, Bhutan, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Maldives, Mongolia, Laos, Taiwan, Hong Kong
To be considered, applicants must:
Be enrolled as a regular, degree-seeking student at Tokushima University
Hold a valid “Student” visa status in Japan
Belong to one of the eligible Asian nationalities
Meet the age requirement by March 31, 2026:
Undergraduate: 25 or under
Master’s: 30 or under
Doctorate: 35 or under
Demonstrate financial need
Not be receiving or scheduled to receive any other scholarship in fiscal year 2026
Be willing to participate in scholarship-related events and submit required reports
📝 All documents must be handwritten in Japanese using black ink. Incomplete or incorrectly prepared applications will not be considered.
