This travel bursary is available to eligible students commencing a full ECU degree program in Semester 2, 2025 or Semester 1, 2026.

Open to students pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s (Coursework or Research), and PhD programs at Edith Cowan University.

Value: AUD $2,000 (one-time payment)
Purpose: To assist with travel and relocation expenses
Disbursement: Paid directly to the student’s nominated Australian bank account after the census date of their first semester
This bursary is tailored for students who:
Had originally planned to study in the United States
Were impacted by U.S. student visa delays
Are beginning a full-time degree at ECU in Australia
This bursary is open to international students of all nationalities, except citizens and permanent residents of Australia or New Zealand.
To qualify, applicants must:
Be classified as an international student
Hold a valid Subclass 500 Student Visa
Be commencing their first degree program (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) at ECU in Semester 2, 2025 or Semester 1, 2026
Study on-campus at ECU’s Joondalup, Mount Lawley, or ECU City campuses
Not be in receipt of any government-funded scholarships or industry sponsorships
Provide documentation proving intention to study in the U.S., such as:
A submitted application to a U.S. university, or
An official offer letter from a U.S. institution
No separate scholarship application is required. To be considered:
Apply for admission into a full ECU degree program
Submit relevant documentation demonstrating prior intent to study in the U.S.
Enroll and pay tuition fees by ECU’s official deadlines
Remain enrolled full-time and meet census date conditions
All eligibility and award decisions are at the sole discretion of ECU.

Recipients must remain enrolled full-time (minimum 60 credit points per semester)
Must remain enrolled beyond the census date of their first semester
The $2,000 payment will be processed post-census date
Withdrawal, loss of eligibility, or failure to meet terms may require repayment
The bursary is non-transferable between institutions, campuses, or courses
Cannot be combined with other ECU-funded scholarships or bursaries
