To qualify for the Confucius Institute Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
Be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health
Meet the age requirement:
16–35 years old
Up to 45 years for current Chinese language teachers
Under 20 years for undergraduate (BTCSOL) applicants
Hold relevant academic qualifications:
High school diploma for language courses and BTCSOL
Bachelor’s degree for MTCSOL
Have the required Chinese language proficiency:
E.g., minimum HSK Level 3 (180 points) and HSK Oral Intermediate (60 points) for language programs
