The UK Government’s prestigious Chevening Scholarship Programme is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 academic year from students in Türkiye. This fully funded award offers exceptional candidates the opportunity to pursue a one-year master’s degree at any UK university.

Chevening is the UK Government’s flagship global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations. It aims to develop future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers worldwide.
There are two types of awards available:
Chevening Scholarships – for postgraduate study.
Chevening Fellowships – for mid-career professionals.
In Türkiye, awardees are selected by the British Embassy in Ankara.

Applicants from Türkiye may apply to any master’s course at a UK university of their choice.

To qualify, applicants must:
Be a citizen of Türkiye or a Chevening-eligible country.
Commit to returning to Türkiye for at least two years after the award.
Hold a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 honours degree.
Have at least two years (2,800 hours) of work experience.
Apply to three eligible UK master’s courses and secure at least one unconditional offer by 9 July 2026.
Meet all UK university requirements, including English language proficiency.
You are ineligible if you:
Hold British or dual British citizenship (with limited exceptions).
Hold refugee status in a non-Chevening-eligible country.
Are currently employed (or were within the past two years) by:
His Majesty’s Government (FCDO, MOD, Home Office)
The British Council
A UK university partner
The Association of Commonwealth Universities
Have previously received a UK government-funded scholarship.
Note: Applicants with a prior master’s degree may still apply if they demonstrate how a second degree supports their leadership goals.
Submit your application through the official Chevening online portal.
For the Chevening–TEV Partnership Award, you must:
Apply via the Chevening portal.
Apply separately through the Türk Eğitim Vakfı (TEV) portal between 1 October – 1 December 2025.
Only candidates who complete both applications will be considered for the joint award.
