High Potential Scholarship at Maastricht University, Netherlands (Fully Funded) – 2024
Want the possibility to pursue a master’s degree in the Netherlands with full funding? The Maastricht University (UM) NL-High Potential Scholarship Program 2024 is now open for applications. Applicants from outside the EU/EEA who intend to enroll in a full-time master’s degree at Maastricht University in the Netherlands are eligible for this fully-funded opportunity.
For exceptionally gifted students from outside the European Union (EU) who have been admitted to a master’s degree at Maastricht University (UM), the NL-High Potential Scholarship program awards 24 full scholarships of € 30,000 (including tuition fee waiver and monthly stipend) per academic year.

Maastricht NL-High Potential Scholarship Details 2024
The scholarship program consists of the Holland Scholarship, which is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science in collaboration with Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences, and the High Potential Scholarship, which is funded by the Maastricht University Scholarship Fund.
Eligibility Requirements
In order to be considered for the Maastricht University NL-High Potential Scholarship, applicants must fulfill the requirements listed below:
- The applicant is eligible to apply for an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands and has nationality from a nation outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam.
- You do not possess dual citizenship with an EU/EEA countries.
- For the academic year 2024–2025, you have applied for admission to Maastricht University’s participating full-time master’s program.
- You are eligible for admission to the particular UM master’s program to which you have applied.
- You have never taken part in a higher education program in the Netherlands that leads to a degree. The application process is open to students who have participated in exchange programs in the Netherlands.
- On September 1, 2024, you won’t be older than 35.
- Your most recent grade transcript or proof of academic brilliance show that you had exceptional results in your previous educational endeavors. If multiple applicants are equally qualified, UM will give precedence to those whose academic records or letters of recommendation certifying their academic performance show they are among the top 5% of applicants for the 2024–2025 scholarship program.

How-to-Apply: Applicants must complete the steps below in order to be considered for the Maastricht University (UM) Holland-High Potential Scholarship:
Step 1: Enroll in a master’s program at UM that is one of the participants.

After submitting your application through Studielink, you will be given a University of Michigan student ID number. To complete and submit the Scholarship Application Form (see Step 2 below), you will require a student number.
