Yenching Academy Scholarship 2024: Students who meet the necessary qualifications and are interested are welcome to apply for the Yenching Scholarship in China. International and domestic students enrolled in the University’s degree program are eligible to apply for the award.
The scholarship will be awarded to international scholars who enroll in Yenching Academy’s Master’s program. The scholarship covers living expenses on the Peking University campus as well as tuition fees, round-trip flights to Beijing, and lodging.

Details About Scholarship at Yenching Academy 2024
Scholars at the Yenching Academy are awarded full fellowships and have access to a broad range of interdisciplinary courses on China within the broadly defined subjects of social science and humanities. Yenching Scholars select courses from six research areas to build their own study programs, working closely with their academic advisors.
The Yenching curriculum prioritizes interdisciplinarity and the importance of considering China’s development from both Chinese and global viewpoints.
Qualification Standards
Interested candidates must fulfill the following criteria in order to be considered for the 2024 Yenching Academy Scholarship in China:
- Be a student from abroad or domestically.
- A Bachelor’s degree minimum in any discipline, or be enrolled in a degree program with an expected completion date of August 31, 2024;
- A stellar academic history;
- Ardent desire to learn China throughout disciplines;
- A track record of extracurricular success, involvement in the community, social responsibility, and leadership ability;
- Competence in English.
Scholarship Advantages
The following advantages are awarded to Yenching Scholarship recipients in China:
- Whole cost of tuition
- Travel expenses round-trip to Beijing, lodging, and living expenses on the campus of Peking University.
Procedures for Applications
How to Apply: Interested parties may submit an online application through Yenching Academy’s site in order to be considered for the Yenching Academy Scholarship 2024. The following materials must be submitted in English by each candidate after creating an account on the Yenching Academy admissions portal:
- Filled out the online application; a 750-word or fewer personal statement;
- Curriculum Vitae; Statement of Research Interest (maximum 1500 words, omitting sources);
- Official transcripts; diplomas or enrollment certificates;
- Two endorsement letters from academics;
- Minimum scores and prerequisites for English: TOEFL (iBT): Overall 100, IELTS (Academic): Overall 7.0 Advanced
- Cambridge English Scale: Total 185, CET 6: Total 600, TEM 4.
