AGI/DAAD Research Fellowship | Qualifications
In order to be eligible for the DAAD/AGI Research Fellowship, candidates need to fulfill the essential prerequisites:
Candidates must be German or non-German individuals employed either continuously in Germany or at one of the DAAD Centers for German and European Studies located outside of the US.
Candidates must to be either junior or senior in rank. A PhD must have been completed or be under progress for junior applicants.
To be considered for fellowships within the allotted time, all application materials MUST be submitted in English and received by AGI by the deadline.
Applicants are ineligible if they have obtained a grant or other form of assistance from the DAAD within three years of the fellowship’s commencement.
Procedure for Application
How Do I Apply? Interested candidates for the DAAD/AGI Research Fellowship should electronically submit the following documents in one PDF file (in English):
A brief letter of introduction in which you should specify your citizenship, eligibility, and source of information regarding the fellowship;
A curriculum vitae including, if applicable, a list of publications;
A project proposal (5-7 pages, double-spaced) that succinctly and clearly summarizes the main findings of the study and how they relate to the goals of AGI.
For PhD candidates and recent PhD recipients (i.e., those awarded within the last five years), two recent letters of recommendation are required.
English language proficiency is a requirement for acceptance.
