Scholarship Protection
The following advantages are offered to recipients of Bangkok Government Scholarships:
- Fees for unique courses or programs offered by faculties are not included in the cost of tuition. There must be prior coordination between the teacher or program and the students.
- A housing allowance and stipend of 16,000 Baht per month.
- The total cost of the airfare for each leg cannot be more than 12,000 Baht for students from Asia and 20,000 Baht for students from Africa. (Students are responsible for paying for their own transportation; Chulalongkorn University will reimburse them for this cost when they arrive.
Criteria for Scholarships at Chulalongkorn University
Those who wish to apply for Chulalongkorn University Scholarships must fulfill the requirements listed below:
- English is a required language.
- All nations in the world are eligible.
- It should be emphasized that applicants from ASEAN or non-ASEAN nations must not have completed more than one semester of study in any program at Chulalongkorn University in order to be eligible for the scholarship.
- For undergraduate studies, applicants must have attained a grade point average of at least 2.75, and for graduate studies, at least 3.25.
- A minimum IELTS score of 5.0 and a TOEFL score of 500 or 173 on the computer are necessary.
- The applicant must not be older than 35.
- It is preferable for faculty members, researchers, and academic staff to return to their native universities after graduating from Chulalongkorn.

(3) Before the deadline established by the university’s office of academic affairs, applicants must send the completed application form and supporting documentation directly to the faculty or program of their choice.
(4) Before their names are forwarded to the office of academic affairs at Chulalongkorn University, applicants must be evaluated and recruited by the faculty or program of their choice.
(5) The office of academic affairs must receive all pertinent application materials that have already been reviewed by the faculty or program before the deadline.
(6) Academic.chula.ac.th will announce the applicants who were successful.
