Ready to Apply | Masters Scholarships at ENS de Lyon in France – 2024
For international students with outstanding academic records who want to enroll in their master’s programs in the exact sciences, the arts, humanities, and social sciences (apart from FEADép Master’s programs), the ENS de Lyon and its partners annually provide a number of scholarships. For rewards in 2024, the next call for applications starts on December 1.
The ENS de Lyon Ampère Scholarships of Excellence have Master’s programs concerned with the valued amount of 1,000€ per month for one academic year (renewable under circumstances). This excludes FEADép Master’s programs.

MILYON Scholarship:
- Advanced Mathematics and Fundamental Computer Science are eligible master’s programs. The cost is €1,000 per month for ten months.
QuanTEdu-France Scholarship:
- Physics, Advanced Mathematics, and Fundamental Computer Science are suitable for master’s programs. Amount: 1,000 euros per month for a full year.
Eligibility Requirements
The following criteria must be met by applicants in order for their applications to be evaluated for ENS de Lyon Grants & Scholarships:
- Applicants from every nation
- Applicants for the university’s master’s and doctoral programs
- In order to qualify for admission to the first year of a Master’s program (M1), candidates must demonstrate that they have an L3 degree (Bachelor’s, 180 ECTS), or if they have studied abroad, an equivalent level.
- A M1 degree (240 ECTS) or, for applicants who have studied abroad, an equal level, must be demonstrated in order to be considered for admission to the second year of a Master’s program (M2).
- Those who are prepared to enroll in a full-time program
- The applicant cannot already be the recipient of a scholarship.
Application Methods
How to Apply: Click on the following link to access the online application form, which you must first register for. Applicants should fill it out and submit it. You will be able to link and access the form after registration. Applications received after the cutoff date won’t be taken into consideration.
These documents are needed:
- Two letters of recommendation (in French or English) from academics who are familiar with your work are required. If you are unable to upload the letters, the professors may send them to you by email at ampere.scholarship@ens-lyon.fr. (with the title of the document bearing both your name and the Master’s preferred)
- Motivation Letter
- Academic resume
- Documents must be in either French or English to be approved. Certificate of diplomas and degrees already earned (ex: Bachelor degree). If the document is not in English or French, you must offer an authoritative translation in those languages.
