Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Gateway Scholarship, USA 2023–24, all applicants must fulfill the requirements listed below:

Take at least 15 credits each fall and spring semester as you study to complete your baccalaureate degree.
Obtain a minimum of 30 credits per academic year. Make sure that you finish at least 12 credits in both the fall and spring semesters. It should be noted that transfer credits or CLEP tests are not allowed; all coursework must be completed at UTRGV.
Keep your Grade Point Average (GPA) throughout the entire university at 3.0. All grades achieved in college-level courses at UTRGV, including those completed while in high school, are taken into account for calculating GPA.
Up to two years of undergraduate study or until you graduate, whichever comes first, are covered by the scholarship’s renewal provisions.
If you transfer to another school or don’t enroll at UTRGV for either fall or spring semesters, it will expire.
If there are special reasons why you will need to miss a fall or spring semester, you must tell the scholarship coordinator in advance and get their approval.
