Professionals who are citizens of South Africa, Mozambique, and Angola are eligible for scholarships for master’s degrees.

The Chilean Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AGCID) is now accepting applications for scholarships to pursue authorized Master’s degree programs at Chilean universities or other colleges and universities in the 2024 academic year. Professionals who are residents of South Africa, Mozambique, and Angola are eligible for these scholarships.
More than 1,000 Latin American and Caribbean professionals have graduated from post-graduate programs in a variety of specializations offered by Chilean universities or higher education institutions thanks to AGCID’s Horizontal Cooperation Scholarship Program, which was launched in 1993. As of 2015, the Scholarship Program has also been opened up to citizens of South Africa, Mozambique, and Angola.

Who is Eligible?
Professionals from South Africa, Mozambique, and Angola who preferably work in the public or academic sectors in their home countries are eligible for the scholarship program. Candidates must have prior expertise in the fields they intend to study for a master’s degree and an unconditional offer from a ledged by the nation.
Applications that are compatible with Accredited Master Degree Programs in Annex 1 (See in Link Below).
Applications in the fields of astronomy, agriculture, energy, public policy management, health, the environment, and mining, among others, that are listed in Annex 1 of this call for applications’ List of Masters programs.

- Those who are chosen must bring money to Chile with them to meet initial expenses until the administration of stipend payments is being completed. It’s advised to deposit at least $500 USD.
Program Length: Scholarships are granted for a maximum of thirty (30) months, which includes the Spanish language immersion course that must be successfully completed and authorized within this time frame and is described in more detail below. The maximum term of the scholarship will be twenty-four (24) months if the scholarship bearer does not enroll in the Spanish language immersion program and has demonstrated prior Spanish language proficiency.
How to Apply? The AGCID Grant application and the annex documents listed below must be submitted electronically to esudafrica@minrel.gob.cl.
- Acceptance letter for the selected study program;
- Certification of bodily and mental health;
- Original professional title certificate or a certified copy signed by a public notary;
- Curriculum vitae with a focus on employment and education;
- Motivational letter outlining the applicant’s motivations for choosing Chile as a study destination;
- A succinct overview of the thesis’ potential regions and topics;
- A letter of recommendation from a professor; a letter of sponsorship from the potential employer;
- Acceptance of the scholarship’s terms and conditions by affidavit.
