Marco Rose Will Be The New Borussia Dortmund Manager Next Season
Borussia Dortmund have appointed Marco Rose as their new manager.The Borussia Monchengladbach boss will join their Bundesliga rivals in the summer.
Who is Marco Rose?
Rose, 44, played for Lokomotiv Leipzig, Hannover and Mainz during a 15-year playing career.
He went on to manage Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg before taking his current role at Monchengladbach.
Monchengladbach have reached the Champions League knockout stages this season under his watch.
What is Rose’s managerial style?
Rose wants “emotionality” and “hunger” from his players. He looks for a dynamic style, and wants his players to play fast football.
He is also tactically flexible. While he has always stated his preference for a 4-4-2 diamond, he has also used a 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 formation at Monchengladbach.
Why are Dortmund bringing in a new manager?
They have had a difficult season and let then-manager Lucien Favre leave last year.
Dortmund are currently sixth in the Bundesliga and have won just one of their last five matches in the league.
They will hope Rose can get the best out of star men like Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho when he steps into the dugout.
