TOPIC: You Must Know Your Standing In Christ (TREM Devotional 8 August 2021)

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2 KJV

In Christ, we are standing in Grace. Grace is the unmerited, unearned and undeserved favour of God. By reason of where you stand, your ground has been mandated to accept you and produce for you. You must have that mentality at all times; otherwise, you will be discouraged. In fact, you will change your confession and question what you used to believe. This is where a lot of believers are now and I’m concerned because my joy for the rest of the life that God has given to me, is to sit back and see you succeed and testify.

Therefore, it’s very important, that you pay the price to know your identity, your standing and what is available to you in Christ: “And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace” (John 1:16 KJV). Wave of Grace upon wave of Grace! When you are done with one wave, another wave comes. “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ” (John 1:17 KJV). In other words, if you want to know what God’s will is, find out what Jesus said about that thing. Whatever He says about it, irrespective of what you are experiencing, that is the truth. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32 KJV).

You should know that the fact is not the truth. John the Baptist found the truth about his identity in the scriptures. He said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias” (John1:23 KJV). John knew who he was- he was not Christ, Elijah or one of the prophets. He knew that he was the voice of him crying in the wilderness (Isaiah 40:3). Like John the Baptist, we can discover our identity in the Word.
