BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 33-34
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 32:24-32 (KJV)
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
31 And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.
32 Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob’s thigh in the sinew that shrank.

The MESSAGE:
Being alone with God has a therapeutic renewing, re-energising and strengthening power. It is when we are alone with God that He is able to mould us to what He can use. There are some things that men will never learn when people are around them. A time alone with yourself and God will transform you to another man.
In Genesis 32:24, the Bible says that Jacob was left alone with his fears and anxieties. It was in that moment that a man appeared and began to wrestle with him. They wrestled all night long. Jacob’s hip was dislocated with just one touch. Jacob continued to hold on to the man, refusing to let go. Jacob asked for a blessing. It was a request of desperation, until he was blessed. In wrestling with the angel, Jacob encountered God Himself and experienced, the great God, who met him and stages a transforming encounter of grace.
This passage (Genesis 32:24-30) shows us that separation unto God is the key to visitation from God. It is the key to the transformation of life. Times of separation are times of reflection, and times of reflection are times of revival. When alone with God, you experience personal revival.
Anyone who is interested in the fulfillment of his destiny on earth must have time to be with God alone. This is living a life that is not overcrowded with people or overrun with activities. Over-activity can be the enemy of being alone with God.
Beloved, you have to give yourself a break from anything that is making you too busy for God.
The truth is, God does not do serious things with a person when his life is crowded with activity. So, you must make up your mind to separate yourself from the crowd and be alone with God as often as possible. Spend time alone with Him in the word and prayer. Being a follower of Jesus is a relationship with Him. This relationship will only grow as you spend time with Him.
God wants you to seek Him in order to find Him. He wants to reveal Himself to you, but you must seek Him in order to find and know Him.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
O God, arise and teach me to be alone with You, in the name of Jesus.
Opportunity wasters, your time is up, die, in the name of Jesus.
Every battle assigned to waste my time and years, die, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
Agents of darkness, my life is not your candidate, clear away, in the name of Jesus.
Every power assigned to kill my star, die, in the name of Jesus.
Spirit of discouragement at the altar of prayer, be destroyed by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
I fire back every arrow of spiritual dullness, in the name of Jesus.
