TOPIC: Consider Your Ways
READ: PSALM 141 (NKJV)
THE MESSAGE:
The word of the Lord gives us deep insight on how to live a fulfilled life. The first two verses in our text is a call for help. There is a striking lesson in verses 3-6. Take another closer look at them and observe that the Psalmist asks God not to allow him to join evil things or to practise wicked works with men who work iniquities. Today, we live in a society where young men in their numbers are joining occult groups for protection, worldly possessions, and influence; girls and women who ought to be responsible are selling their bodies. Different cult groups exist even in secondary schools and young people are joining in their numbers. Don’t be part of them. You have a special assignment from God; God is interested in your life. The last sentence in verse 5 explains one major reason the Psalmist said he would not join evil doers. The reason is that he prays against evil deeds. 2 Corinthians 10:6 says “And being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” Those who are evil cannot pray against evil.
Consider your ways. Don’t betray the trust God has on you. Don’t be involved in any act that will destroy your relationship with Him. The presence of our Lord Jesus in you is your hope of glory. Be a faithful partner with God in this wicked generation. Let God count on you! Repent and renounce if you are already on the wrong side.
PRAYER: Help me oh Lord to be drawn closer and closer to You in my daily life.
